On May 29 – June 1, 2012, a workshop “Improving the Efficiency of Budgetary Expenditures, Public and Municipal Governance in the Republics of the North Caucasus” took place in the city of Gelendzhik (Krasnodar Krai)
On May 29 – June 1, 2012, experts of the Center for Fiscal Policy and Institute for Urban Economics carried out a workshop “Improving the Efficiency of Budgetary Expenditures, Public and Municipal Governance in the Republics of the North Caucasus” as part of the Strengthening Local Governance in the North Caucasus Project.
The workshop took place in the city of Gelendzhik (Krasnodar Krai). It brought together over 50 leaders and specialists of regional and local governments of Karachai-Circassian Republic, Kabardino-Balkar Republic, Republic of Ingushetia and Stavropol Krai who discussed socio-economic development of the North Caucasus, more effective budget spending and intergovernmental fiscal relations at the sub-federal level, further reform of the network of budget-supported institutions as well as the prospects of the public-private partnerships in the Russian Federation.
