On May 25-28, 2010, the CFP held a training seminar for finance officers of municipalities of Southern and North Caucasus Federal Okrugs devoted to “A New Stage in the Public Finance Reform”
Under the project of advisory assistance to the North Caucasus funded by the USAID, the CFP held a training seminar on May 25-28. It was devoted to “A New Stage in the Public Finance Reform” and addressed finance officers of municipalities of Southern and North Caucasus Federal Okrugs. The participants discussed intergovernmental fiscal relations, performance of local self-governments, effectiveness of budget spending, formulation of municipal assignments for public service rendering, legal status of budget-supported institutions, inter-municipal cooperation and public-private partnerships.

During the seminar, the CFP experts advised the participants on practical issues of applying the new legislation to the specific conditions of their respective regions and municipalities. Advice was provided in form of free discussions and on individual basis.
