The 8th annual April Seminar that the CFP held from the 17th through the 20th of the last month attracted more then 120 people from 38 Russian regions, representing wide range of professionals, including financiers, economists, and sociologists. The CFP experts and federal officials explained new trends in the federal fiscal policy and how they impact regular budgetary practices on regional and local levels of the Russian budget system.


Elena Andreeva, the CFP Academic Director, presented findings of the project “Analysis of Long-term Economic Impact of Child Welfare Reform in Tomsk Oblast” to the officials of the Tomsk Administration on the 25th of April. Objectives of the project included (1) estimation of costs of incorporation in the child welfare system innovative services to prevent social orphanhood, and (2) evaluate socio-economic impact of such transition at the 2050 horizon.
